SHOWS
AND EXHIBITS
We
will be at the North American Alpaca Show at the Big-E
fairgrounds in Springfield, MA, on April 4 - 6, 2008.
There we will be showing four of our males, Helderberg
Chewbacca, Helderberg
Obi-Wan, Helderberg Thor,
and Helderberg Saturn.
We will also be showing one female, Helderberg
Naboo. This event is open to the public.
We
also expect to be at Clarksville Heritage Day, August 2, 2008,
in Clarksville, NY, just west of Albany.
We
paticipated in National
Alpaca Farm Day, September 29, 2007! Our
farm was open from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm for visitors, and
we had a steady stream all day long! The weather was
great, and our visitors were able to visit with our alpacas,
along with our pygmy goats. Whether you are thinking
of becoming an alpaca farmer, are looking for alpaca hats
and mittens, or are simply curious about an animal you may
have never seen before - take advantage of the many farms
in the region - most of whom are open to visitors by appointment.
We, along with most other farmers, are happy to answer your
questions about this gentle, curious animal and about alpaca
farming. As a farm that has been built from the ground
up, we have many lessons learned to share with new alpaca
farmers or those who are just thinking about going into the
business. For established farms in search of new blood
lines, we have several promising young alpacas that are the
result of careful breeding, have not yet been shown, and are
available for sale. We also have several animals for
sale to those who simply want a few alpacas for fiber purposes
- and don't want to go into the business of breeding.
We are located about 15 miles west of Albany in the beautiful
Helderbergs. Watch for our announcement
